INTELLIGENT TRACKS
At Euroluce, the international lighting fair in Milan, the new track system in designer Michael Rösing’s legendary series Absolut scored points by being strictly functional, ingenious and making a clear statement. Like all products in the ABSOLUT LIGHTING collection, a RADIUS DESIGN partner brand, the expressive track system also stands out for its high manufacturing quality and state-of-the-art technology. With his latest creation the entrepreneur and designer Michael Rösing, whose designs always live off paring technology down to the absolute essentials and whose credo is the trinity of function, form and feasibility, has created a visual and technical “high light”. The superior chromed track system made of steel, carbon fiber and aluminum is equipped with a universal-3-phase-track adapter and an integrated, dimmable transformer. So in terms of energy economy as well the newcomer from Brühl is sheer joy.

Together with other renowned fellow architects and designers such as Gert Wingardh, Thomas Sandell has designed a unique residential complex in Gümüslük on the Bodrum peninsula. Michael Rösing, head of RADIUS DESIGN and ABSOLUT LIGHTING, has bought two of the desirable residences and is planning to convert them into an extraordinary showroom, a “DesignRoom”. As he says: “The intention is for our clients to be able to experience the quality and uniqueness of our products in real life.”
The internationally renowned creative mind (his clients include Artemide, B&B Italia, and Iittalla) has designed two different types of building for the complex in Gümüslük. And with their unique footprints and ideas the other planners involved in the project have ensured that something quite special is emerging on the Aegean coast. Different footprints and cleverly used, spacious living areas create unprecedented spatial quality. Yet the two gems the designer Rösing has singled out have an added attraction, as in their case “design will live here”! From the purist, superior light installation by ABSOLUT LIGHTING to the cool RADIUS DESIGN living accessories – absolutely everything will be designed by the boss himself. In the best of senses – straightforward and functional, because Rösing has no time for overcrowded design temples full of pomp and knickknacks. “In Gümüslük there should be a sense of design vacationing here!”
In addition to the product show experienced at close quarters, this is also a wonderful place to go on vacation, or so Michael Rösing’s plans envisage. It is a new concept he intends filling with life. “I can imagine just about everything here. From hands-on vacations with workshops and wellness through to design packages with event character – his ideas are as unusual as they are convincing. And according to him “a film team has already been making enquiries.” Who knows, perhaps the next Bond movie will be set in Turkey...
