01 PRODUCT OF THE MONTH

x-centric: Functionality at its best

A small table for a book, a pair of glasses or perhaps a glass of bubbly?  Indispensable. Luminaires over the bed or sofa? Totally practical. The designers at RADIUS DESIGN are of the same opinion. With their table collection they offer any number of ideas on how to combine practical qualities with style. Particularly noticeable in the side table category is without question x-centric, which lives up to its name in every respect.

For in x-centric, a cheeky look and reduced stringency meet perfection. x-centric is the little diva that grabs the limelight in any place, with bold forms and stunning colors (black, white, gray, green, orange). The concept: Two different-size steel panels are bent to form an edge and connected with a thin, shiny pole in such a way as to create not only a very interesting form with clear contours, but also a highly functional table. There is plenty of surface space on which to put things, but not only on the table top. Thanks to the two bent metal elements, open compartments offer plenty of space for more than a book or a pair of glasses. (Design: Murken Hansen)

02 EVENT OF THE MONTH

Energy-neutral production

A symbol of quality known the world over: Made in Germany. Although the seal is not patented, numerous court judgments clearly set the term apart. Because it stands exclusively for quality products which are produced in Germany. At RADIUS DESIGN and ABSOLUT LIGHTING, it is above all also the people who vouch for the perfect production of the goods they make who are behind this.

Protecting the environment is everyone’s responsibility. A careful approach to resource management in particular is a top priority and has ecological and economic advantages in the long run. Michael Rösing shares this opinion. The Managing Director of the labels RADIUS DESIGN and ABSOLUT LIGHTING has now actively invested in climate protection. With a 1,400 square meter solar power system mounted on the roof of the production facility in Brühl, sunny days are even more desirable now! For in future, thanks to the photovoltaic cells the Brühl-based company will have energy-neutral production. A carbon footprint that pleases everyone. The sophisticated equipment will generate 115 kwp (kilowatt-peak). This is the equivalent of the energy required by 83,889 luminaires for a period of 24 hours. Or for the production of the very finest design products.
